Boston College vs UConn: Preview & Final Prediction
Boston College (4-3. 2-2 ACC) will be hosting Connecticut (1-6, IND.) this Saturday looking for their fourth victory in a row. Kickoff will be at noon ET from Alumni Stadium (Chestnut Hill, MA) and will be broadcast nationally on ACC Network (ACCN).
Boston College is coming into this game with a three-game winning streak, the most recent victory coming last week over Georgia Tech beating them 38-23. Boston College has now rushed for over 300 yards in back-to-back games for the first time since 2017, rushing for 308 yards against Georgia Tech. Kye Robichaux led the Eagles with 165 yards with two touchdowns and Thomas Castellanos ran for 128 yards with two touchdowns.
Fun Fact: Castellanos ranks 26th in the country and fourth in the ACC with 289.4 yards of total offense per game.
The Eagles now host a regional opponent, the UConn Huskies who have struggled throughout the season. Connecticut is coming off a bad loss to South Florida, they lead in that game 21-10 early in the 4th quarter but would end up losing 24-21.
There will be no need for extra motivation for this game as the players and coaches alike remember what the Huskies did to the Eagles last year. They handed BC their first loss ever against UConn (Boston College leads the all-time series, 12-1-2, against Connecticut) in brutal fashion losing to Connecticut 13-3.
"This is a team right now with a lot of confidence, a lot of momentum. We’re enjoying playing football. We’re getting better. We need to still get better. There will be no motivation needed this week." - Jeff Hafley on playing UConn
This game on Saturday has more hopeful implications than the previous few games. After last year's loss to UConn, many fans were calling for Hafley to be fired and now after three wins in a row, there is all the momentum in the world. It seems this BC Football program is headed in the right direction and a blowout win is something that would help cement that confidence. It is time for Boston College football to not only show their dominance in the region but to show that they can be a true contender in the ACC and at the Power Five level.
Don't take our word for it, just listen to BC's starting quarterback Thomas Castellanos on the state of Boston College Football:
“I will say this, we are turning this thing around. Boston is back. Boston College football is back. We’re no longer the laughingstock of college football or the ACC. We’re back and we’re rolling.” - Thomas Castellanos
Current Line: BC -14.5 (O/U 50.0)
Chance Of Winning: 81.7%
According to ESPN Analytics BC has a 81.7% chance of winning this game. The spread for this game is currently 14.5 points in favor of Boston College, with the over/under around 50 points. The spread has continued to rise throughout the week, and most sportsbooks have the line now between 14 and 15 points.
Does BC Cover The Spread?
Boston College will cover the spread. We predict the Eagles will cover the spread comfortably and Boston College will most likely win this game in a blowout. The confidence level for this pick is the highest it has been all season.
The over/under looks low. Take the over. BC is going to put up a lot of points. If UConn can also find a way to get in the end zone this will be a high scoring game.

Final Score: 49-3 (Boston College Wins)
The confidence level of this Boston College team going into game eight is extremely high. The momentum is real and this revenge game has arrived at the height of newfound belief in this team. This game will be over by halftime.
Boston College is considered a two-touchdown favorite in this matchup and they should be. The only key to victory this week is to take care of the football. If they can reduce turnovers they will win this game, we are not going to waste your time with any other keys to victory. Protect the ball and make sure Emmett Morehead is ready to play in the second half.
