Yes, we predict BC to only have one loss this regular season - we went with the Hail Mary Scenario because why not... And yes we do think BC will beat Clemson in Death Valley this year! The only loss this year will be a fluke game against an ACC opponent towards the end of the season. The Eagles will win the Atlantic Division and they will play in the ACC Championship.
How is this possible?
Boston College has one of the easiest schedules in the entire country this year. If you take a look at the schedule above you will see that every single game is winnable. The only game that does not seem winnable is Clemson, and we predict that upset will occur this year.
Also, we predict the Eagles will improve dramatically on defense and become more dynamic and somewhat more balanced on offense.
The Path
This BC Football Team will be a Top 25 team after Week Three (or at the very least after Week Four) and will remain in the Top 25 for the rest of the season. At the end of season with only one ACC loss, the Eagles will have the opportunity to play in the ACC Championship Game.
This is how we see the 2021 Season going down:
The first three games will be blowout wins for the most part. We can basically skip to Week Four when Missouri comes up to Chestnut Hill. This will be the game when the college football world finally realizes Boston College has an elite passing offense. Expect a two touchdown victory and a Heisman performance by Phil Jurkovec on national television.
BC now is ranked in the Top 20 going into the highly anticipated Clemson game. This game will be one of the most historic wins for BC, and with the entire country watching, Boston College will shock the world. Expect Coach Hafley to implement a similar game plan from last year but with even more tricks up his sleeves.
After that miraculous upset Boston College will very fortunately have a Bye Week. The Eagles will definitely need a week just to come down from that high. In Week 6 they take on NC State at home, and we expect this game to be close until the 4th quarter until BC eventually pulls away.
The following week the Eagles travel to Louisville and in this game they will show off that they still have an elite running attack. BC will have over 200+ yards rushing and run away with an unexpected blowout.
Next game is Syracuse and unfortunately this won't be competitive at all, another easy win. However, the next game against Virginia Tech is a trap game and while it is the "Red Bandana Game", the Eagles will have a short week playing the Hokies on a Friday night. We expect BC to win for Welles but watch out for this matchup that gave BC a lot of problems last year.
BC then goes on to take care of business on the road against Georgia Tech and then comes back home for a late November game against Florida State. FSU always has the talent to make big plays but hopefully they are still a few years aways from putting it all together. Eags win and they now face Wake Forest to wrap up the regular season. The Demon Deacons are well coached and always find a way to make it interesting. But the Eagles will find a way to finish and punch their ticket to Charlotte.
Only loss of the season would actually be an upset against BC, and we expect it to come from either: Virginia Tech, Florida State, or Wake Forest.
These season predictions can be very silly sometimes...
In all honesty, we expect the Eags to improve significantly from last year, but no one really knows how much they will actually improve, that's why we watch the games!
Our advice to all of you BC Football Fans is to really enjoy the first three games when BC plays lesser opponents, and has extra time to implement more complex offensive plays & defensive schemes.
The 2021 Season really starts in Week Four against Mizzou.
And the game of the year is of course Week Five at Clemson.
Don't miss out on any action!
It is going to be a special season.
GO EAGS! #GETIN
